R24000 down the drain
<p>I've been with King Price for 2 years, my premiums are just under R1000 a month.</p> <p> </p> <p>Made my first claim and the total assessed amount was less than my excess so the the claim was closed (without informing me). So basically what I'm told is, sorry were not going to pay for your claim, even though you have given us R24000 over the last 2 years.</p> <p> </p> <p>I'm not giving you a cent more, bye.</p>

It’s really heartbreaking for us to hear that you had a bad service experience from us. we note that the excess option you selected at sales stage is R4500, the repair cost of your vehicle is R 3,927.37 therefore your claimed amount is less than the excess you would need to pay in the event of a valid claim. Based on the above the claim is closed and you would then only be liable to pay the damages to your vehicle as they are lower than the excess amount payable by you in the event of a valid claim.
The above outcome would be the same with any insurer in South Africa as the excess you select is the amount payable by you towards any claim, it would not make sense to charge you an excess of R4500 if your claimed amount is much lower than that.
