Premium deducted after policy cancellation

I had agreed to take out car insurance but my current insurer did meet the same offer so I decided to retract my King Price policy by sending an email to their retentions department that I was not going to take their policy and to please cancel. This is my email sent to their client care on 01 March:

Good day, I would like to inform you that I have decided to remain with my current insurer as they have been able to meet the premium you have quoted me. So I will not be taking your offer at the end of March 2021. Please accept this as my cancellation for policy KP***.

Thank You, Clinton And the following on the 28 March 2021 to their retentions after their attempts to contact me:

Good day,

Please ensure that my policy KP*** is cancelled as per my email sent to client services on 1 March 2021. I do not wish to take up an insurance policy for my motor vehicle or anything else with King Price, at this moment.

I would like an emailed response confirming this please as I am going to remain with my current insurer.

Thank you, Clinton

I then called in on Friday 16 April 2021 to try sort out the debit order they still ran but when I was transferred to their retentions the phone call cut whilst I was on hold.
