Premimum increase without my consent

I received an email telling me that new monthly premium for the month of July will be R 971.89 from R696 that I was paying monthly. I disputed that it too much, I spoke to the manager by the name of Geraldine who was going to speak with her superior regarding that.

My disputed was that there is no clause in the contract that I took out that speaks about premium increase at any point in time, I requested the recording and the initial contract to date my premium was increased by R275 while we were still sorting out the premium increase issue.

I don't have a problem with the service or the consultants.

Our comprehensive car insurance premiums decrease monthly, in line with the depreciating value of your car. (Which is fair and logical, right?) But unfortunately as with most insurers, there are some things that not even the king can control, like inflation, increases in labour rates, and part price increases, which means that we have to adjust premiums annually. Once we’ve accounted for this, your comprehensive car insurance premiums continue to decrease monthly.

With regards to the clause in the King Price policy document you are referring to we wish to refer you to page 8 the following excerpt :

''Need a change You may make changes to your policy at any time, by simply calling us. Any change you make will be effective from the time and date agreed to. An updated policy schedule will then be sent to you. In such a case, please check that the changes were made just as you had requested. Remember, incorrect details = incorrect cover.
King Price may also make changes to your policy, as and when we deem it  necessary to do so. When we do, we’ll give you 30 days’ notice.''

We note that the 30 day notice of the increase was emailed to you on the 15/05/2019. Our retention's department will be in contact to discuss.
