I insured my car and bike with this company in 2019. On 15 March 2020 my bike was knocked over by a car whilst it was legally parked in a demarcated parking in Melkbos Strand. (Just before lock-down 5) After lock-down we managed to get a quote for the repairs. A quote was done in August 2020. Only on 06 November 2010, I was notified by Carl Prinsloo (Motorcycle Specialist for King Price) notified my that the bike was assessed and documentation was submitted to King Price. The claim then took 2 months for it to reach the claims department. In the mean time a woman by the name of Scharia Munnik contacted me to inform me that she will be dealing with my claim. On 29 December I received an e-mail that the claim was denied because King Price voided my insurance on the bike on 01/03/2020. But they deducted the premium from my bank account until December 2020. In the letter they state that they will refund my installments on the bike from 01/03/2020. At no stage was I notified that my policy on the bike was voided. (The value of the installment is only a fraction of the damage) They clearly did this not to honor the claim of R35 000. It would appear that as soon as somebody submits a claim they void the policy to the beginning of the month in which an incident happens.
