Not so simple insurance

My wife and I bought a brand new car in May. After looking for insurance we settled with King Price as they gave us the best deal... or so we thought. About a month later a guy drove into our stationery vehicle and I called King Price to inform them and apparently my excess which was supposed to be R5000 has now almost doubled to R9000. The damage to the car is R9300 so this fabulous insurance is now covering me R300 on the repair. This didn't bother me because the guy that drove into our car was supposed to pay the balance but now my so called insurance seems to be on his side, saying that he agreed to pay R500 a month and I should just accept that but in the mean time I have to outlay the whole amount and wait to get it back in dribs and drabs. So this brings up the question, what am I really insured for with this company? Being that we have a written letter that the guy acknowledged that it was his fault the right thing to do was not expecting to put YOUR client out of his own pocket as to cover the entire repair and make me feel as if the 3rd party is the one that was insured with you guys. There is nothing King about this insurance and I feel as if I have been conned by you guys. Advice to others that are looking for insurance is to steer clear of this Company as I am really disappointed that only at claim stage I was told that my excess doubled. I was with Momentum before this and starting to regret moving to you guys. Nevertheless if this is not sorted out and I am not treated like a valued client I will be moving away and creating awareness on every social media site available.

Hi Timothy
Our legal department has been in contact with you to discuss your concerns. As a recovery is a legal matter we are unable to force the 3rd party to pay the full amount once off due to affordability therefore our only means of a fair recovery would be to make an arrangement with the 3rd party of monthly payments which has been arranged. Once the full amount has been recovered your excess will be paid back to you. Our claims department has advised you of your excess amount and the reason for the amount, kindly refer to your policy schedule regarding the excess amounts.
Royal regards
