NONDISCLOSURE OF 3RD PARTY CLAIM RESTRICTION
I have used King Price Insurance from 2013. I had advised the Agents on all recorded calls, that both myself and my fiance were the vehicle drivers. I was told that i did not need to nominate a secondary driver, as anyone who had my permission and a valid license was allowed to drive my vehicle, and that they WOULD be covered by insurance. However, the agent DID NOT TELL ME THAT ONLY ONE DRIVER would be covered by insurance for 3rd party damages incurred. (i requested the recordings 2 months ago and have not yet received)
We were involved in an accident in March this year, and the 3rd party (who's vehicle was damaged) was advised by King Price, not to liase with me, but with them directly. He followed their protocols and obtained 3 quotes etc, only to be given a rejection letter a month later, stating that my fiance was not covered for 3rd party damages.
Had this been advised to me initially, i would have used another insurance company, who does cover both a primary, and secondary driver for 3rd party damages, as so many other insurance companies do.
Consequently, the third party has now taken us to court, for us to pay him directly, for the damages caused, and time wasted.
