Non disclosure is dishonest and needs to be reported to the FSB
My policy details was updated a number of months ago, at the time the consultant offered me a scratch and dent policy at a cost of R67 pm. He also advised that the maximum amount paid per claim would be R3000 with an excess of R250 (was not specified whether the R3000 was including or excluding the excess).
We have now submitted our first claim under the scratch and dent portion of the policy, which claim was rejected as it exceeded the R3000 maximum by R450. Again not sure how this impact on the excess.
What King Price omitted to mention at the time they sold this cover to me was the following 1. That any claim exceeding R3000 would be declined outright. 2. They referred me to a clause in policy contract, which I have not received since my last update to include the scratch and dent cover. 3. They never advised me that the scratch and dent cover is administered by a third party, who is not part of King Price. 4. Dealt with SMART today they are rude and not willing to resolve anything, told me if I am not satisfied with their decision, to submit an email to their complaints department and put the phone down.
It is sad to see that such a growing company would align itself with such poor service providers as SMART. What makes it worse they don't disclose this upfront, certainly something that needs to be reported to the FSB, as dishonest for non disclosure.
