No assistance if it's not your fault.

Just a notice for all loyal clients, when you get in an accident where its not your fault, they refuse to do anything, only time they can assist is if it's your own fault and you pay the access amount. If they can prove that its the other parties' fault then AFTER you paid your access, THEY TRY TO GET the access from the other party and then refund you if they can't then your just less your money. This is useless to pay way higher amounts than other insurance companies to have no assistance for being a good driver and someone lese ruins your life you have to pay for it. Their email and call just states they have no responsibility for the claim and cannot help further. Now i know they are going to call and make excuses...

Hi Ivor,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be to be involved in an accident, particularly when you were not at fault.

We'd like to clarify how excess and excess recovery work. In terms of the policy, an excess is payable when a claim is authorized, regardless of who caused the accident. This excess forms part of the contractual agreement between the insurer and the policyholder.

Where the third party is responsible for the accident and sufficient evidence is available to support this, we will attempt to recover our claim costs, including the excess paid by the insured, from the responsible party or their insurer. This process is known as excess recovery.

Unfortunately, successful recovery is dependent on several factors, including the identification of the responsible party, the availability of supporting evidence, the third party's ability to settle the debt, and liability being accepted. As a result, recovery cannot be guaranteed, even when the insured was not at fault.

The excess is therefore collected upfront at claim stage, and if recovery is successful, the excess is refunded to the insured. This approach is standard insurance practice and helps ensure that repairs and claims can be processed without waiting for the outcome of what can sometimes be a lengthy recovery process.

We regret that your experience has left you feeling unsupported, as this was certainly not our intention. We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns regarding the recovery process.

Royal regards,
