Nearly a year without action - Useless, Unprofessional and Inept

My claim is approaching the ten-month mark with, as of yet, no deliverable action has been taken to collect my out of pocket expense. I'm completely disenchanted with King Price's ability to act as an insurer. As far as I am concerned their staff are unprofessional, poorly trained and as a company they are seemingly unable to restore an insured client to the position they were in prior to suffering damages.

If I require any feedback, it seems I need to mail every Tom, **** and Harry whose email I’ve collected so far, wait a month or two, and then get an apology for the lack of feedback followed by news that nothing has been done on the matter.

I was a client with King Price for a year, I paid timeously, I was signed up in a flash and when my banking details changed they didn’t skip a beat to ensure they get paid from the new account (in fact debit-order change took 5 minutes from me sending an email). I have since moved my services elsewhere, and still having issue getting ANY form of action out of King Price to claim back and pay me out, as they were contracted to do.

However, when it came to claiming for insured damage, my one, single, tiny dent claim, instituted in October 2015, has perplexed this TV-acting and advertising clown-show of an insurer to no end.

After lodging a claim, my very first introduction to KP's Claims department was a lady, who right off the bat apologized that she generally does not keep her case clients updated on progress, but that she will be working on the claim. This is not the kind of service I would expect from the farcical emails of king’s court, royal service bull**** they email you. It certainly did not put me at ease with regards to their staff’s ability to act in any legal assisting capacity, with zero professionalism.

Months of no feedback or progress passed, and then I got introduced to a new lady who apparently took over the matter, and had so far managed to harass the responding party who caused the tiny dent, via SMS and a phone call.

The purpose of having insurance is so that the insured person would be restored to the position they were in prior to the insurable incident occurred, but King Price has had 10 months and have not made good on this obligation or produced any evidence that they've progressed towards this goal. My last update was an apology for being more scarce than Dodo hatchlings, and that a letter had been sent in March 2016 (six months after I claimed) to try and collect damages, and that the matter would be handed over for legal process.

What’s worse, I’m still R4500 out of pocket, I paid KP nearly R1000 per month for 12 months, after claiming, I was forced to use their elected service partner who cost nearly R2000 more than any other respectable quote I gathered independently before lodging a claim and I could have actually repaired the vehicle at my own cost, for cheaper, lodged my own small claims summons for damages, and finalized the matter in less time than it took KP to draft a letter of demand.

Shocking, unprofessional and *********** service. I will never refer anyone to this insurer. Heaven forbid anyone ever takes any long term insurance, life insurance or car insurance from them in the hope that they will act in your best interest... Claim number: CKP***/1 Matter number:120539
