King Price Insurance Company is *********** a 75 year old Retired single female. I’m a 75 year old black female retired and single. I have been a client of King Price for a little over 2 years. I had submitted a claim to King Price after my property was damaged by a storm in April 3rd 2023. Processing and approving the claim was delayed by King Price for 9 months. The claim included a quote for a roof that was 70% damaged according to the assessor who was appointed by King Price. In the interim while King Price was still deciding whether to award me the amount of settlement quoted I needed to protect my family and my grandkids from the dangerous condition of the roof that was open over our heads owing to the tiles that were blown away , I then had to get an independent contractor to fix the roof immediately. I had to pay that contractor privately. Also included in the quote was the kitchen cabinets and the walls that were ruined by the rain water coming through the open roof. To eventually get awarded the quoted settlement amount was through my lawyer who involved the Ombudsman. In King Price's contract there is a clause that allows them to either pay the settlement directly to the client or to keep the funds where King Price would deal with the contractor of their choice. In my case obviously they opted to keep the funds. I kept asking for receipts from Delini Naidoo, an employee at King Price who totally refused to give me receipts and quotation of the material they bought and used. I asked King Price to give me back money for the roof they did not fix. The roof I paid for and for the kitchen they have not fixed to this day. They refused. I asked for a form that an insurer should provide the client to sign off on the completed work which would be a written documentation to confirm that position. I was advised by Delini Naidoo that King Price has no such form. Since I was asking questions and expecting answers, I was told I am rude and difficult.
