King Price seems to have changed its approach to claims by using a management company that prioritizes cheaper repairers. My car was inspected at one of their usual panel beaters, who quoted R51k, explaining that the paint was expensive and required multiple layers. However, the claim management company found a repairer quoting just R18k, and King Price opted for the cheaper option. I dropped off my car and was given a collection date, but on that day, I was told to wait for a 2nd date. When I called on the 2nd collection date, the receptionist had no answers, and even after two hours, no one in the workshop could provide an update. Now, I’m waiting for a third date with no clarity. No parts were needed—just paint for stone chips—yet delays persist. Whoever approved the R18k quote at King Price should have considered the potential compromise in quality. King Price used to be excellent with reputable repairers, but this experience has been disappointing.
