King Price only insurances you for PIRATE parts no ORIGINALS
I have a Chevrolet Trailblazer on comprehensive insurance with King Price. Please note that since Ive have my insurance with King Price I've had only a windscreen chip claim.
My windscreen is cracked and I called King Price to have it replaced
1. King price DONT install the original Chevrolet Windscreens and I have to accept a genetic windscreen. This is completely unacceptable for me. I pay a lot on insurance and the first time I have a claim I get offered a pirate part.
2. The cost the replace a genetic windscreen is R1500.00 with an access of R750.00. Why when have insurance if I can pay the R1500.00 myself.

21 Dec 2021, 10:22Alternative glass is not inferior to branded glass. All glass manufactured for the use as windscreens must be SABS approved and both branded and alternative glass are subject to the very same SABS standards and tests. Alternative glass merely come at a much better rate than that of the branded alternative. Alternative glass is accepted as a preferred replacement within the insurance industry, as there is no difference in the quality of the glass. There are instances in which we will consider installing branded glass, but there must be clear merit in this decision. Mostly this will be if the warranty of your vehicle will be effected. If your vehicle is under warranty King Price will require a letter from the manufacturer that confirms that the installation of a non-branded Glass will void your warranty.
