King Price? More like the frog with warts
I had a claim repudiated by King Price because I did not have a tracker in my car that was hijacked on 5 March. On the sales call, the agent states that the tracking device is NOT BECAUSE OF THE RISK, IT'S PURELY BECAUSE OF THE VALUE OF THE CAR. The retail value of a car according to King Price is R150 000 for the requirement of a tracker. They accepted my policy without confirmation of a tracking unit which they were fully aware of on 9 Feb 2013, with my policy set to start on 1 March 2013. I have paid full premium for two years of cover for theft and hijacking. I got hijacked on 5 March and my car is not under the value of R150k negating the requirement of a tracking unit. These ROYAL guys reckon I was told it was a requirement etc. But they offered me terms on it regardless. So they knew they wouldn't cover me, still collected my premiums. On top of that, the legal guy first says my premiums weren't reduced, in his final rejection letter, he tells me they were reduced. If you want proper insurance and peace of mind DON'T USE KING PRICE AS YOUR PROVIDER.
We sympathize with your current situation, however at point of sale you where advised that your theft and hi jack cover is conditional upon an approved tracking devise being installed. Regrettably you did not install the devise hence there being no theft and hijack cover. The monthly premium was reduced on a monthly basis due to the depreciation of the vehicle value.
