King Price Lockdown Cover
<div>I’ve been using King Price Insurance since I bought my car exactly a year ago. Like most self employed people the lock down has affected me badly. So I called King Price to see how they can assist with my insurance premiums. They then advise me of a product called “lock down” cover. It’s essentially a 3 party insurance cover also covering loss due to theft or fire, also covers accidental damage only if you are traveling for certain conditions. I.e. Essential Service, Funerals, Medical Attention and To buy groceries. My premium for this cover would then be reduced to almost R400. I’m also given assurance that at the end of the lockdown my premium will go back to normal. Meaning I will still pay what I’ve been paying pre lockdown. Needless to say, I take the cover since the vehicle is mostly parked in the garage and not getting used. Myself and my brother have other cars that are still comprehensively insured. I had this “lockdown” cover for two months. Before the lock down my premium was around R1450(Comprehensive) Now, a day ago they call me and tell me the lockdown cover is coming to an end and My policy has to be changed back to comprehensive, which I obviously agreed to. They then say my premium will now be R 2100 and some odds. Now I’m expected to pay around R700 more that I was paying. Why was I told my premium will remain the same post lockdown? If I knew about this I would have just left it as it was. This is a **** King Price at a time when we need every possible assistance we can get during this trying times. To add to that, we are still on lockdown.</div>
I had a dents and scratches cover, tyre and rim cover included in my policy post lockdown But now it’s no longer there. Can this be looked into please.
