KING PRICE HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST INSURANCE EVER

I had an accident on the 21 Dec and the car was towed by the insurance to a Mercedes Benz dealership.

An assessor assessed the car and by the 28 December, had a report that the car had hit something under, which damaged something that then resulted in an oil leak. The assessor stated that he could not examine if the car engine is working or not, and they had to wait for the panel beaters to open on the 06 January to determine that.

Subsequently, there was silence from the insurance, and after numerous attempts to reach a consultant, I got through to a lady who advised me that they were busy with the paperwork relating to settlement fee from the bank. Mind you, I was never formally advised of any intention to write off the car.

Fast forward, by Mid January, I was told the car had to undergo another assessment. I have no idea what for. The initial assessment was scheduled on the 07 February (which was 3 weeks away then). On the day of the assessment, a consultant called me to tell me to take the car keys to the assessor and I was not in a position to at that moment as I was busy with other commitments. As a result, I got feedback the following week that the assessment was not done as they did not have the keys. Mind you they were handed the keys when the car was towed in December.

From that day, I have never gotten any feedback from King Price. Last when I managed to get through the consultant, all he could tell me was that King Price still has to conduct the assessment and that was in Mid February. And they have not gotten back to me since. My emails remains unanswered.

But now, King Price is deducting a full insurance premium for a car they know very well they have written off (R2 185). Because King Price has not commenced discussions with the bank, I am still paying for the car (R7 800). And I have to rent a car at R5 500 per month (wherein a deposit of R4 000 is withheld). And I have carried these costs for the past three months now. And so long as the process is not finalized, I will continue spending more than R15 000 in car costs. A car that is not even there.

And I have no responses from the insurance. I am not sure whether they managed to conduct the assessment; whether the bank has been advised accordingly; there are no discussions about the settlement fee;

It is as if the insurance is looking for a way out not to pay. I mean a month after they have made the call not to repair the car, the bank has not been contacted? And it has taken them over six weeks to conduct an assessment (for the 3rd time mind you). I am very aggrieved by this situation. And I am financially depleted. I am besides myself in frustration.
