INABILITY OF KingPrice Insurance / MAZDA (SA) TO ACQUIRE CAR PARTS FOR MAZDA 3 ASTINA, 2L (2019)

Hi, my name is Colani Teenager Shongwe

I'm insured with KingPrice Insurance for my Mazda 3 Astina, 2L, 2019 model. On the 23rd Jan my car got smashed by another. I laid a claim which was approved & the plan was to get my car fixed. The panelbeater, LS AUTOBODY (Edenvale) gave me the 28th Feb as the expected date of completion. Considering that I had to relocate from GP, EastRand to Mpumalanga by month end February I tried to push for the panelbeater to finish the job by month end so I could be able to have my car by the time I had to move. Unfortunately I got told that there were some parts (the sunroof) that were on back order & were expected to be delivered on the 1st April. It was a difficult pill to swallow but then there was nothing much I could do, so I waited...a very long 2 months. In the meantime the panelbeater completed fixing the damage on the car & put my car aside & waited for the arrival of the sunroof parts. A few days before the 1st April the panelbeater called to inform me that the expected date of delivery of the parts has been postponed by another week (to the 8th)....very heartbreaking news but again I had no alternative, so I waited. However, on the 6th April again I got another call from the panelbeater to inform me that the expected date of delivery has been postponed by yet another week...again! Devastating news once more! Upon inquiry with my insurer (KINGPRICE INSURANCE) as to why all this was happening I was told that they don't manufacture car parts, all they do is help fix cars.... Mazda supplies the parts, if I have a problem with that I must call Mazda to supply the parts, (& if they can't they should provide me with a courtesy or alternative car) cos if they don't, KingPrice won't be able to complete their job. I might even get my car in June if Mazda doesn't provide them with the sunroof parts. So I'm really really frustrated by this guys, would you kindly assist me. Pls

Hi Colani

We completely understand your frustration however parts on back order from the manufacturer are beyond our control. Our claims department will be in contact with an update on the status of the parts. You may contact the manufacturer of your specific vehicle brand directly to inquire if you wish.
