ill-treatment and poor delivery
Following Claim Number CKP***/1... On the 25th of September 2021 I was involved in an accident with our vehicle (Ford Ranger Wildtrak) somewhere in the Free State. Our vehicle was then towed to Harrismith where it was kept for a month later ****il I complained on the 25th of October 2021) and thereafter towed to Boksburg (959 Panelbeaters) on the 26th of October 2021. Our vehicle has since then been at panelbeaters since date. Following a complaint a laid before, King Price Insurance then made a promise to us (with an understanding of our pain and going a month without a vehicle) that they'd hire a vehicle for us "until we receive our vehicle back" from repairs and we collected a Renault Kwid on the 26th from Europcar (which later we exchanged for a Kia Picanto) which was quite helpful. However, till date we HAVE NOT received our vehicle back as it is still in for repairs and we do not have an expected timeline as to when we will be receiving our vehicle. Secondly, on the 25th we had to return the rented vehicle and as we speak we are without no vehicle AGAIN.
Here are the biggest frustrating facts (and questions) as we speak: 1. On the 24th of December 2021 we called King Price Insurance informing them that Europcar had advised us that we needed to return the hired vehicle and asking if there will be an extension and the lady that we spoke to PROMISED us that when we return the hired vehicle on the 25th of December 2021 we would receive another one and all we would have to do is to pay Deposit AGAIN which I agreed to. To our surprise on Saturday morning (25 December 2021) at 06:00am when we got to Europcar we were informed that NO EXTENSION OR NEW HIRE was arranged for us by the insurance. On the very same day my wife and I had to attend a family gathering in the Free State but we ended up spending half of our Christmas in Airport waiting for King Price offices to open and there after communicating with one agent after another until 14:10 but nothing was done for us. Empty promises were made that we'd receive reference numbers to receive another vehicle but nothing of that kind was ever received until later that day. When we called back, we were told that Claims Department would be closed until Tuesday (28th December 2021)... This is the very same insurance that claims to care about its client's needs however the very same clients were left in the airport looking like fools on Christmas day while everyone spent Christmas with their families. Later that day we had to sort our selves out like any other day and rent a vehicle elsewhere from our own pockets. Today (27 December 2021) we then received an SMS at 7am being notified that a rental vehicle was ready for collection at O.R Tambo but upon arriving at the Airport with the reference number we were informed that the booking was CANCELLED. This is now the second time we have been failed by our own insurance and taken for a ride again.
2. As stated before, it has now been two months without our vehicle. What is the expected timeframe now? When are we going to receiving our vehicle back again? Nothing hurts as much as paying each and every month for a vehicle that you cannot see nor know when you will be getting it back. From the report that we last received from the Panelbeaters, our vehicle is still in "Body Repairs" stage and still needs to undergo 4 deeper stages. Does the insurance even care that it has been 4 months without a heavy vehicle? We did not purchase a heavy bakkie for nothing, we NEED the vehicle
At this point we have received nothing but disappointment from King Price. Yes Amanda tried to comfort us and to assist us as much as she can but till date I need to state that it felt like she was the only individual amongst others we have interacted with who had sympathy for clients. Besides that, we have received nothing but an unfair and rude treatment from staff. At this rate, we are honestly disappointed in the service we have received and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND King Price to anyone... One thing we have surely learnt is the fact that "Cheap is not always right"... King Price Insurance might pride itself as the cheapest insurance but they will either take you for a Ride or a Fool when it is time to claim. Not only have we been illtreated by King Price Insurance, but spend Christmas day in misery (without family), and we have spent the past 3 months in hell because of the very same insurance that is failing to keep up with its promises

1. Going into conversations that we had with the assessor (I can forward them to you), we raised to the team that on Page 25 of 35 of the assessment report, there are two images that reflect a broken tail light and according to Werner Du Toit (your assessor), he state stated; and I quote "The rear bumper was quoted to be replaced, however the tail light has a scuff mark not a crack which can be polished out. However, the vehicle will be re-assessed once at the repairer and any unseen accident related damages will be discussed and added". But to our surprise today when we arrived at the panelbeaters no authorisation was given to 959 autobody to repair this tail light. What Werner had quoted as a "scuff mark not a crack" is definitely a crack... Upon contacting one of your employees that I could not get by name, he insisted that this was not part of the accident damage and told us about how he has great years of experience in these things but was as a matter of fact he is wrong as proven and displayed in Page 25 of 35 (image 1 and 2) of YOUR assessment.
After a dispute with this discourteous man, he did not even for a second apologised directly to us for his disgusting attitude and/or treatment. What does this say about 4 values of King Price Insurance when your own management cannot adhere to the King Price Insurance promises? Am I the one (as a client) who is supposed to remind you of your promises upon signing your contracts?
2. We had also raised Point 5.4 from the email communication that from Page 18/20/25 of 35 and image 2 on Page 22 of 35 of the assessment, there seemed to be a misalignment space between the bed of the vehicle and the cab itself. It was again said by Werner Du Toit (your assessor), and I quote "Alignment has been allowed. However if needed larger repair will be given.". It was to our surprise today when we inspected the vehicle and found that there is still a misalignment between the vehicle cab and its bed. Upon inspection on the right hand side of the vehicle, I was able to fit my hand into the gap while on the other side (left hand side of the vehicle) I could only fit my fingers. Why was this not repaired or catered for? This definitely compromises the value of my vehicle.
3. There is a missing component that was not covered by the insurance which is the bonnet protector. However, upon taking the insurance we were given the impression that all extras of the vehicle would be covered. What does this mean now? Does it mean as the customer I need to scoop our R1000 from my pocket and purchase a component that you are not willing to cover? So much for delivery.
