I called this morning to cancel my policy, they decide to cancel it immediately and process refund

I called this morning to cancel my policy, they decide to cancel it immediately and process refund. Should I did not look at the email, I will be thinking I am covered while someone divided to put me through so much risk. After that I called and they open a new policy for me instead of re-instating my policy. So much disrespect and no integrity
