I am only writing this review so people know how customers are treated at King Price
Appalling experience with the claims manager Shaldon Harilal (2018/01/19, 15:30 - 16:30)
Claim Incident date: 28/11/2017 Loss Description; Lightning Decision made by King Price: Repair Dvd Player and Brand new LG 4k Television; Replace other devices.
With great disappointment, I write this review to notify general insurance consumers in South Africa to be alert of how customers are treated by the King Price when it comes to claiming.
Before you take out that policy with your insurance company, do you ever think about asking your insurer how quickly they would settle your claim? Well, we made the mistake and forgot to ask because we thought we are getting good and proper insurance.
It has been almost 2 months since the claim incident date and it is with great regret, I inform you that I have not received my brand new LG 4k television back from repairs to date.
Today I was told that my Tv would be repaired around March 2018, roughly 3-4 months after the date of loss. The reason for this is mainly due to a delay in part from Korea. On many occasions I requested that my claim is re-evaluated as taking so many months to settle a claim is not fair to the customer. I was however told on countless occasion King Prices's business practice does not deviate decisions made to repair/replace based on the time it takes to settle the customer.
I was brought up to always fight for what I believe in and today I fought for my consumer rights for customer satisfaction. To be honest I try my best to always practice good EQ but today after so much frustration its seems I lost it and got quite upset. In my heated arguments with the Claims Manager: Shaldon Harilal and Complaints Liaison: Tougheeda Brown it seemed that the customer is always right theory is only a myth at King Price.
I did eventually apologize to Tougheeda Brown and I do admire her strength and people s****s when dealing with confrontational situations, even through my endless complaints and frustration she tried her best to keep her cool which I deeply respect!
On the other hand, Shaldon Harilal broke under pressure and expressed his frustration with me (Please listen to the recording between 15:45 and 16:30 on his line). No matter how upset he was or how upset I was, what was said was uncalled for.
I was told I talk much and that I must give them a chance to speak.
I was told that I complain everywhere I go and that his close acquitencies at P&G Digital Zone (Unrelated to the claim, however, the store I purchased my TV from) notified him that they had a bad experience with me out when I had returned a defected television to them.
I was told I gave their the repairer the run around with regards to the loan tv and that I over exaggerated and **** to them that the logistics of my TV by their repairer skymarks was bad because they "never" neglect care of the goods they transport.
Oh and did mention that I was instructed to follow up with LG myslef as this isnt King Price's fault (Even though they make the decision to repair vs replace).
I am really tired of fighting and getting nowhere. I have settled on the fact that I will only receive my TV in March and there is nothing I can do.
Please remember guys a tv is no similar to a Motor Vehicle when treating claims at king price. If a customer can wait 3 months to fix his car, I should wait 3 months for my tv to be fixed.
Thank you King Price for that royal smack in the face!
