Horrific Third Party Claim Still Unresolved

I am having a horrific time trying to resolve a third party claim. The accident occurred almost three months ago where I was parked in a restaurant parking lot. While having breakfast with a friend, someone drove into my vehicle and damaged my door to such an extent, that full replacement is required. Little did I know that this was only the start to the nightmare I am currently going through.

All started well with the claims process, or so it seemed, until I obtained my first offer. The offer was for repairs at a company more than 40 km away! I could not accept this offer, firstly to drive female alone all the way there while having health problems. This might as well be seen as a place in a different town altogether! Re-assessment…and we wait The second offer was for a company closer, but excluded VAT again. I could not accept this offer and accept to pay in for VAT, which added up to quite a substantial amount. I requested for re-assessment. Re-assessment…and we wait Now we are getting somewhere, or so I thought. The offer was for a company close-by, which I was relieved with. The offer also included VAT, why should I even have asked in the first place? But still, I was relieved. Unfortunately after visiting the repairer at which King Price suggested, the response from them was that the assessment was very poorly done and they cannot fix for that amount. Now you have to be kidding? I drive all the way only to find this out? Fuming, I asked them for a quote, resubmitted this to King Price and you guessed right, requested for another re-assessment. Re-assessment…and we wait I got told to be patient and follow up on Friday. I did just that, only to hear: no, time was not sufficient, please follow up on Monday. My patience is running out, yet I follow up on Monday again. Only to hear…nothing. I sent another mail on Tuesday and got a response with audacity to say I should allow sufficient time to respond. This just cannot get any better – or so you think. The assessment was yet again below amount. I forward to the repairer and same reply, they cannot fix for this amount. Why am I in the middle of such an inefficient process? My patience is out, I am an innocent victim in this, yet I have to follow up with the Insurer and Repairer. I am now in contact with Management of King Price and hoping this gets resolved to come out to a reasonable amount, which the repairer is agreeing to while at least fixing the vehicle. Unfortunately the vehicle has already lost a substantial amount in value. Maybe my optimism will soon die out, but after speaking and being in contact with management, I am truly feeling heard, maybe for the first time. Let’s hope this comes out as an action and agreement. Watch this space…and we wait!
