I was involved in an accident in January 2023, reported and logged a claim the same day. The claim was "provisionally approved" after sending photos on the app.

I was then later informed that my vehicle was "booked in for repairs" They NEVER ONCE mentioned with which provider, even after contacting them.

Once the approved repairer contacted me, I took the vehicle in for assessment at the repairer. They gave me a quote based on OEM parts, an excess amount based on OEM parts which I paid in full.

Then I had to wait almost 3 months for a door, once the door arrived the vehicle was again taken back and they proceeded with repairs. On collection of the vehicle, I noticed the handle was not the same as the other 3 doors, quite an obvious thing to notice, I inquired and was only then informed reluctantly that "alternative parts were used during repair.

NOT ONCE WAS I CONTACTED OR CONSULTED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM FROM EITHER PARTIES INVOLVED THAT **** PARTS WERE BEING USED.

The door does not close properly, is already scratched on the inside, the handle is not aligned correctly and as mentioned, is not the same as the other 3 doors. The window still needs to be replaced as well.

King Price, APPROVED THE CLAIM AFTER THE QUOTE WAS SENT TO THEM, the same quote I have, and paid the excess amount on.

With **** parts being used, total repair cost has come down from R46 000, to R17 700.

I do not pay insurance on a **** vehicle, I do not pay financing on a **** vehicle, I have never missed a payment once with KP, and because they wanted to save money and not pay the full amount, they went and found the cheapest, 5th grade parts to be installed on a vehicle that was in pristine condition with less than 100k km on the clock.

They did this all with ZERO communication, without my knowledge and consent. I paid the FULL EXCESS AMOUNT BASED ON THE ORIGINAL QUOTE OF R46 000.

They knew they were trying to dupe me, and hoped I wouldn't notice. STAY AWAY.

I have already contacted and reported King Price to the ombudsman for dubious business practices.

People pay FULL installment prices on vehicles in perfect condition, and these thieving, conniving ****s think they can use ****, s**** yard parts and get away with it.
