HORRIBLE INSURANCE - KING PRICE
Unfortunately I met with a car accident on the first week of November 2020. A drunk driver (without a Drivers Licence) drove into my car around 22:30 pm. Police came to the scene at around 2 am, as my car was not in a drivable condition. Police took statements and complete an Accident Report Lodged my claim with King Price and submitted all documents as required. My claimed is allocated to a King Price employee (Dirk Human), our first conversation started on a wrong foot. The following was his accusations: 1) Tracker report a. According to him, the tracker report that he has in his possession does not correspond with my whereabouts on that day before the accident. b. So this suggest that I was not a driver of my car i. My response was the police and Accident Reports report have my details ii. His responded that he does not rely on the police reports and more especially from rural areas (Bushbuckridge) iii. He promised to go an interview witness at the scene, this suggest that he doesn’t believe the police but someone he has never met before is believable to him. 2) Bank Statement a. He sent me a letter “reasonable letter request” and requesting a copy of my bank statement. b. The bank statement to check if I have purchased an alcohol on that day. c. I have sent him the bank statement, and indeed I have bought Amarula for my brother that day. d. His story changed now, saying that he had received an information from a bystander that night that was selling of alcohol (bear in mind, the same guy is also trying to prove that I was not the driver) e. Again, I had to ask why the police did not smell alcohol on me or arrest me for drunk and driving then, i. Again he does not rely on police, because they are not trust worthy, but a by stander (his investigations). He refused to disclosed the source of his findings. This is strange since he lives about 600 kms away from Bushbuckrideg from Pretoria. 3) Cell phone records a. Now he sends me another “reasonable letter” requesting cellphone records b. The reason to check if my cellphone was in a car at the time of an accident (to prove that I was driving or was in a car as well) i. He wanted me to go to vodaom to get a “date of RICING”. ii. I Went to Vodacom Witbank to get the date of RICING, and Vodacom refused to give that information without a court order eve if its my cellphone. iii. I have called him and have the Vodacom employee talk to him and to make him aware that I wont get the information or document without a court order. SUMMERY AND /OR MY OBSERVATIONS: 1) As you can see, King Price is looking for every possible reason not to settle my claim 2) King Price is trying to say that I was drunk, therefore my claim is declined, if you were not drunk then, how about if you were not the driver and your claim is declined. 3) This is frustrating, let alone that I was with Budget Insurance for all my life and King Prince called me and promise heaven and earth. 4) It has been over a month now and my car hasn’t been fixed and I am wasting so much money on alternative form of transport. 5) This is a worse service, if not a nightmare. I will never wish for anyone to be in my shoes, so you know what to do.
