Extremely Frustrated with Windscreen Claim Handling

I am writing to express my deep frustration with the handling of a windscreen replacement claim for my 2022 Nissan NP200, which I submitted on 7 March 2025 through the King Price Insurance app.

According to the app, my claim was approved, yet I have received no communication from King Price or the appointed service provider for more than three weeks.

When I followed up, I was transferred to DGC, the service provider, who confirmed that King Price had approved a windscreen replacement—but not with an original Nissan Windscreen, only with an aftermarket "Pirot" windscreen. This completely contradicts what is stated in my policy documentation.

I then contacted King Price again and was told I need to obtain confirmation from Nissan that the vehicle is still under its factory warranty. Given that this is a 2022 model, it should obviously still be covered. The lack of clear communication and guidance throughout this process is unacceptable—especially after such a long delay.

To make matters worse, I was informed that the insurance access fee is R1500.00, which might seem reasonable in theory. However, I can replace my windscreen privately for R1200.00, using the same quality aftermarket part—including installation. Why would any reasonable person go through this much hassle and pay R300 more to claim through insurance?

This experience has left me feeling that I’m paying for a service that simply doesn’t deliver when it counts. I urgently request a clear explanation and swift resolution to this matter.

I appreciate your response and acknowledgment of the issue, but I haven’t heard anything further since then. As mentioned, I’d like to understand what steps will be taken to make things right.
Please let me know what the next steps are, or if there’s someone I should be speaking with directly.

Still No Resolution – Extremely Frustrated with Windscreen Claim Handling
Despite my previous complaint and a polite acknowledgment from King Price on 22 April, I’m disappointed to report that nothing has been done to resolve my windscreen replacement claim — originally submitted on 7 March 2025 for my 2022 Nissan NP200.
More than seven weeks have passed, and the lack of meaningful communication and action is both unacceptable and exhausting. I was initially informed that my claim had been approved, but then redirected to DGC, who stated King Price only approved a non-original aftermarket "Pirot" windscreen, in direct contradiction to my policy terms.
When I raised this with King Price, I was asked to provide confirmation that my vehicle is still under factory warranty — something that should be evident from the fact that it's a 2022 model. This back-and-forth is frustrating, unnecessary, and wastes my time as a paying customer.
To add insult to injury, the R1500 excess I’m expected to pay for this claim is higher than the R1200 it would cost me to replace the windscreen privately, with the same quality part and installation. What value am I getting from my insurance policy if the service is more expensive, slower, and more frustrating than simply handling it myself?
It’s now been over 50 days since my claim was submitted, and I'm left with no clear timeline, no proper resolution, and no accountability. If this is what I can expect from King Price during a simple windscreen claim, I have little confidence in how more serious matters would be handled.
I’m again requesting:
  • Immediate and clear communication from a person who can actually resolve this
  • Clarity on whether my policy entitles me to an OEM windscreen
  • A review of the excess charged vs. the actual replacement value
This has been an incredibly disappointing experience, and I sincerely hope this matter is escalated and resolved without further delays.
