Excuses Not To Pay

My father (70 year old pensioner) bought a used car cash on the 30th May 2019 in Cape Town and took it home with him in the Eastern Cape. He then decided to insure the vehicle and asked my cousin to assist him finding insurance since he is illiterate. My cousin called King Price from Cape Town and took out a policy on the 15th June 2019 on behalf of my father. It was explained to him that the vehicle needed to be inspected at Autoboys for it to be covered comprehensively for accident damage. However, my cousin told them that the vehicle is in Eastern Cape but King Price said that they would send an sms to my father to let him know the nearest Autoboys he can take his car to for inspection. The sms was indeed sent to my poor illiterate father who doesn't even have a smart with a link to show him the nearest Autoboys. Ofcause my father couldn't open the link and probably did not even know what the sms was about. All he knows is that he has insurance and he pays premiums every month. On the 02 November 2019 he was very unfortunate and collided with a *** on his way to town. He tried reporting the incident the same day but no police were available the police station so he towed the vehicle home and reported the incident the next day. King Price collected the vehicle the next dad from home and took it to the panel beaters. The claim was rightly rejected because the condition of cover was not met as stated in the policy documents. However, i explained the situation and the claim was re-opened and I sent images of the vehicle before the accident, an inspection sheet from the car dealer and a trip log from the tracking company to prove that the vehicle was in use and not damaged prior to taking the policy. The claim was rejected again because the pre-inspection was not carried out. I get that the pre-inspection was not done and that it is a condition of cover, but I have given King Price enough evidence to prove that the vehicle was not damaged and in a drivable condition prior taking the policy. Also, knowing that the inspection is not carried out, why then does King price continue deducting premiums for comprehensive cover when the vehicle is not covered comprehensively?

Due to the circumstances surrounding my father's claim, King Price have decided to honor my father's claim. I am very much pleased with the outcome of the claim and wish to thank King Price for looking beyond the condition of cover and thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding the claim.

Thank you very much guys, this proves that you do value each and every customer.
