King Price contacted me on short term insuarance. The qoute they gave me was not the best one. I had 30 days to cancel after they contacted me on the 2nd of March 2020. I got a better qoute from another company and I cancelled by e-mail on the 11th of March 2020 already with King Price. The same guy phoned me back and asked me to send me the policy of the company that I chose! I contacted my broker and asked her if I am allowed to do something like that. She said I could. The guy never came back to me at all.

On the day of the 1st of April 2020 my new policy's debit order went down and then later that eveving the one of King Price as well.

I was furious to think that they put me as a pensioner in such a position. I had to leave the safety of my house to go and stand in the sun for more than an hour to get into the bank to get their debit order be disputed. I couldn't believe that a company who tells everyone that they are looking after you was doing something like that, especially IN TIMES LIKE THESE!! They didn't respond at all.

I e-mailed them again yesterday after I came from the bank.

Suddenly there was an sms telling me that their debit order didn't go through. And then the phone calls started to tell me they can see that their guy didn't phone me back, but I have to talk to either a supervisor, no one came up after I waited a long time on the phone, and the second time around to a consultant and when I asked why they said because my policy is still active. I told the lady calling me that I cancelled a few days after they spoke to me and that I had 30 days to cancel the policy, they can talk to one of my laywers and my broker if they want to carry on with this.

I, really think that not even caring for me as a pensioner and ignoring my e-mails showed me just what kind of company they are. They put my health in jeopardy and since today didn't say they're sorry, BUT my bank could do that telling me that they are sorry that I as a pensioner had to go to a branch to let the debit order be suspended, in times like these. Thank you, very much, Capitec bank!! And still they don't want to let this case go. I will hand them over to one of my attorneys and they can deal with them.

Thank you, hellopeter, that I could share my story here. I'm so angry and at the same time sad that companies do this to people.
