Disclosure of Personal Info & Unfair Practices

They ran credit checks on my entire family WITHOUT consent, they went on to disclose the results to anyone they wanted to. Personal information is NOT safe with them, they refuse to take our calls and managers do not want to discuss the matter. They have harassed my family, refused to pay out the claim and cancelled our insurance. Our personal information has been disclosed to several parties without consent, I have complained on facebook, ONLY FOR THEM TO DELETE ALL THE POSTS!!! THIS IS A HIGHLY ********* INSURER WHO WILL TAKE YOUR PREMIUMS, NOT PAY OUT CLAIMS AND THEN DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITHOUT CONSENT. I have only experienced unfair treatment in terms of the FAIS Act and there is no avenue for dispute, they claim to have internal processes which fail. I have been waiting for a call from Jacque Victor for the past week as well as from their compliance officer to discuss how they could run credit checks without consent then go on to disclose that information to members of the public. Their claim assessor was rude and arrogant and basically violated our privacy and personal lives. He ransacked our house and in the end it took a month for him to decline. PATHETIC!!!

Hello Shrimay,

We note your concerns and wish to respond as follows. Permission to run checks on all household members was obtained via the policy holder whom provided us with the name and surname as well as ID numbers of all household members via email. Further to this it is to be noted that all financial discussions took place with the policy holder and your mother only. The status of the claim has been discussed with the policy holder in detail and the outcome has been put in writing and sent to the policy holder. We note that the dispute process has been clearly noted on the letter received by the policy holder. The policy holder has the right to dispute the matter via our internal dispute resolution department or the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance. The Facebook posts where in fact removed from our page due to their slanderous nature.

Royal regards
