Disappointed

Very dissatisfied with King Price. My premium was increased by 52% even though I didn't officially lodge a claim During the heavy rains, an exterior door swelled and broke,so I called the agent and explained the problem. After my call ,I received several emails from them stating that my claim was being processed even though I didn't officially lodge a claim The lady asked me when was the last time the plastic sheeting on the roof was changed which was part of maintenance. We never did nor do I know of anyone who has done so.To change the sheeting, one has to remove all the roof tiles which would be very costly. The damage was caused by water hitting the door from the side of the house and not a leaking roof

It worked out cheaper to replace the door ourselves than claim because of the excess of R2000 and I knew the claim would be rejected because of the above King Price was looking for every loophole in order not to pay for a claim When I enquired about the increase,I was informed that it was due to my claim . This was the 1st and only time that I wanted to claim

Must a customer pay,but not claim,in order to keep the premium down? An increase in premium of 52%??

Here's the thing, like all insurers, we too need to implement policy rerates to keep up the rising costs of parts, labour rates, repairs, inflation etc... Which even we can't ignore! Our client care team will be in contact to discuss.
