Credit check without Authorization?

Yesterday afternoon while about to make one of lifes biggest commitments i get an email from transunion stating King Price has ran a credit check on me, without contacting me.

shortly after this i recived an email that states, "Please see documents requested all my policy information" etc comes through via email???? - Firstly if someone did manage to call them an act like me, what verification is in place for my person information? im sure the POPPY Act got some good points about this.

I immediately logged onto they website got them to contact me, after 2 calls i finally got to speak to an agent named Robert, he did try an check what was going on, he contacted me this afternoon to tell me they have no information and he could not trace what was going on or who ran the credit check on me? he then asked me to send proof of the credit check?!?!? im not sure if he wants me to send my transunion credit report directly to one of they shared mail boxes. im not sure if he wants my password also to unlock my credit report?

i do know last year they contacted me for the yearly renewal.

Still i dont think they allowed to run credit checks on people out of the blue?

Should i contact my lawyers or contact NCA?

Any advice will be appreciated as this did affect my credit score.

Hi Reeza
Thank you for your comments and allowing us the opportunity to respond, you will note that at the original sales stage of your policy you would have granted permission to run credit checks in order to correctly rate your profile and monthly premium. The check that was run on your profile was due to the fact that your policy is nearing renewal stage and therefore the check is required for the re-rate. Our client care department has attempted to contact you twice already but to no avail.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact.
