Claims power surge damage is wear and tear

I've been with them for quite some time now and first claim I submitted due to loadshedding/Power surge causing issues - They rejected my claimas it was seen as wear and tear...... How is a UPS mailfunctioning wear and tear that only happened after a transformer blew that supp**** power to our area as well as 2 of my inverters batteries that now can't pull any load as then it just drops....

I'm currently just thinking about moving away from King Price as if this is how they handle a small claim I'd rather not try it when something happens with my Bike that is sadly also insured with them....
