Claims dep. Service is poor! Fix it please.
On the 8th of November I was involved in an accident where a driver beat a red robot and crashed into my car. My car was assessed and I was told it is a write off. I was promised heaven on Earth and assured that the claim was going to be quick and hustle free. That is not what I encountered. It has been a nightmare. Firstly I am on their "Chilli insurance" meaning I have to take a picture of the vehicles speedometer so I can get a discount if the car hasn't been driven certain kilometers. The car is not with me so I'm paying full price for a car I haven't driven from the 8th of November.
Secondly I was told to send them the accident report, I went and got it, it cost R320. I've never made a claim so I went there not knowing that I have to pay for an accident report. I called Kingprice and was told that I should pay for it and it I would be paid back by them after sending proof of payment. I did that. Till this day that money hasn't been paid back to me.
Some time ago I logged in on my KingPrice app, to my surprise I found that the claim was approved and I wasn't notified so if I had not logged in I wouldn't have known this. I had to call them. After waiting for a response after the call I had made it never came through. I've been calling almost daily and this hasn't been pleasant at all. I called in last week and was sent an agreement of loss to sign and send back to them. When I read it it didn't make sense to me so I called in again. The lady that helped me checked my policy and discovered that I was covered for a short fall so she advised that I disregard the AOL that she had sent to me, the reason being that it had to be recalculated with my shortfall cover. I was asked to visit my finance house and ask for a High purchase agreement. I did that and sent it back. Kingprice being Kingprice kept quiet and I had to call in to check if they received the documents. I've been calling daily to check if it has been recalculated and I've been told that the manager hasn't got back to them with the new figures. (the entire week) I called in today and I was told that the manager had recalculated the figures and had a new AOL sent to me. Again the figures didn't make sense to me so I called in again and asked how is that the initial shortfall was +-R37 000 but the new AOL practically states that my shortfall cover is +-R4 000,how these calculations came about I don't know. The lady I spoke to said she'd ask the manager how the calculations came about and call me back for clarity shortly. She didn't. I called in again and was told that the manager has been sent a message to get back to me. It surely seems like I'll pay the second installment for a car that's been written off and a premium for a car that's been written off. Amongst other things I wasn't happy about these are a few I decided to write about. KingPrice needs to do better. The service is not good at all.
