Cheaper Premiums are not always a better / best option

What can I say about King Price Insurance? Is it fair to judge an establishment based on their quality of consultants? Yes, since it is the establishment's responsibility to ensure that their employees are but a positive reflection on their brand.

Thus far, this reflection has only been negative. Constant faults in my policy. Faults that were shown to be on their side and NOT mine. My car was not insured as per the initial requirements (business use and with a Namibian Driver Licence), which I only discovered after the legal department threatened to not pay out my claim. King Price realized that they made a mistake and yes, paid out my claim, BUT my premium was now suddenly raised by approximately R200.

I was promised that a consultant will be in contact with me before the yearly increase to ensure that I am happy with the new premium for 2019. Guess what, the consultant that was in contact with me was an automated email. Regardless, my premium was suddenly almost increased by R400. For those of you keeping track and not too horrible with your mathematics s****s, that is around R600 premium increase in a span of maybe 4 months.

Did I go shopping for other insurances? Would be stupid if I didn't right? Yes I did and got an offer of almost R300 less. I decided to cancel with King Prince and suddenly the automated email turned into a consultant (who ironically only tried contacting me ones, promised to return the call since I was on the road and NEVER returned the call again - I had to remind King Price of my intend to cancel and that I need to be contacted).

At this point, I met Mpho Pilane. He did, obviously, do the usual apologizing, but also brought some other irregularities under my intention. Apparently, the fact that I am currently still on a Namibian Driver License should have not influenced my premium before. After approximately 20 minutes Mpho did make an alternative offer, similar to that of the competition. Of course, because who can afford to lose a client in times like these?

I was happy with Mpho's approach, so much so that I have requested to only work with him. I will not work with different consultants anymore, because it seems that each consultant has a different understanding of the relevant terms and conditions. If Mpho's services remain at the standard he has shown me yesterday, I will be happy to stick with King Price.

Thank you Mpho. (If there was an individual rating option, I would give you personally more than 3 stars)
