Car Insurance Policy Renewals

To all of those of you who are generally sceptical of the powers that be within the insurance industry, and their unfathomable price increases year on year, especially when you remained a loyal customer and accepted the premiums as you thought this was as good as it gets. Well apparently it gets better, but you do have to ask!

Recently my King Price car insurance renewal came through and with an additional 17% added to my monthly premium I thought it was time to shop around. On doing so I found a number of other insurance providers were slightly more competitive, so I went back to King Price to see what they were willing to do to be more competitive....

To be honest I wasn't expecting a great deal, literally no deal at all, just a blank NO, but instead I was nicely surprised. Initially you go through the main call centre, then I was transferred to one of their senior financial advisors called Ryan van der Merwe (don't be fooled by the name he's half Ozzie) and from the word go I knew this was going to make some progress. He went through all the information very thoroughly and established there could potentially be reductions made without making any changes to my policy. He said he needed to raise a few aspects with the underwriters and subsequently would need to call me back in a few hours.

As professional as before Ryan called me back in a timely manner and identified there would be a reduction in my premium by roughly 25%. He also explained a few other aspects about the renewal process and the benefits of contacting King Price advisors to ensure you are receiving the most competitive insurance quote.

I for one agree in principle you shouldn't have to be following up with your own insurance provider to ensure they are being competitive, but if you look at it logically once you're on their system the renewals are automatically produced year in year out which sometimes results in an unfavourable premium.

The point being, always review your annual policy renewal with your insurance provider, in this case King Price and the very helpful Mr Ryan van der Merwe who provided me with a very satisfactory conclusion without any of the unwanted pushy sales orientated calls you get after making a few general enquires elsewhere...
