But they do increase

My policy with King Price is one year old this month. I have never made a claim with them, nor with any other insurance company in the past fifteen years. So it came as a shock when I got an email from the royal highness that after re-evaluating my circumstances they have decided to increase my premium to over R999 from around R850. I don't know what circumstances they took into consideration to warrant an increase. If anything, I no longer work and use my cars infrequently. I stay at home most of the time, meaning theft from my house is more difficult now. I remember when I joined them they said their premiums never increase? Or did I hear what I wanted to hear? Maybe it's time I went back to my old ensures...

Hi Malose

Our car insurance decreases monthly, in line with the depreciating value of your car. (Which is fair and logical, right?) But unfortunately, there are some things that not even the king can control, like inflation, parts price increases, labour rates .....etc which means that we have to adjust some premiums annually. Once we’ve accounted for these gremlins, premiums continue to decrease monthly. As per our records you have been in contact with our retention's department to discuss. Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact.
