Bull**** claims solution- dont use kingprice
I recently submitted a claim for a ****** phone . The bigger crime than the phone being ****** was signing up with Kingprice to be honest:
1)they asked for documents that even the service provider could not understand which delayed us by 5 days. 2)they requested police documents that the police said is not a usual process in their world (which meant 3 back and forth visits and 6 hours in the police station , aside from the day the crime happened) 3)they cost myself and my wife numerous hours of time away from work fighting each time they raised their ludicrous requirements 4)they eventually wanted to settle on supplying "the closest" handset at 20% less than the value I insured it for while still demanding the excess?
@Kingprice- I will not be paying any excess and then still lose out the full insured value of my phone. When we took it out we were clear that the value will be the holding amount insured , and if it wasn't the case then the installment should depreciate in turn should it not?
I was now told it is my responsibility to inform them that the value has dropped - ????
Do I own a phone company , how do i know when an item has depreciated- who is the insurer in this equation and what service is being paid for, Is kingprice doing me a favour by insuring me such that I must report to them?
Now i know the point of insurance is not to enrich clients but to put them in the same place they were - well the place i was in was having a handset valued at 4500 which we paid an installment that was directly proportionate to this value.
if at anytime this value changed - then so to should the value of my installment is it not? Because if i claimed 10 years from now - and the phone is worth R50 - then effectively i would be paying 400 a month for 10 years to be covered for R50 at the claim event?
Where in the ombuds book is this sensical?
get this **** sorted out asap - an ombudsman report is swiftly following your lack of solution, not to mention a string of our followers will be interested in these developments on our social platforms.
sagren ***/rene *** - call until you reach my wife or myself because i am using a cheap broken phone replacement while your teams decides i am worth sorting out. expected solution : full insured value to be paid out - or payout out current value and reverse all installments that would have depreciate proportionately alongside the value of the insured asset.
