BEWARE OF PROMISES ON THE KINGPRICE BILLBOARDS - THATS NOT THE FULL STORY!!!!

In good faith, I sign up my little car to King Price Insurance. I check the contract out for hidden fees, question the salesperson, to make sure and sure enough a few rand decrease monthly. WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU IS THEY WILL INCREASE YOUR POLICY YEARLY!!!!! What they also wont tell you is that they "REVIEW" and adjust your premium at will i.e last year the hail cover was about R15 per month and this year its increased to +- R55 per month.

I have queried and been refered from pillar to post, standing on their promise of "monthly decreases" and the end result. ......... Sorry (read the small print) they have covered themselves!!! THE YEARLY "REVIEW" IS AN "INCREASE" and the R2 or R3 rand it decreases monthly is more than covered by the yearly INCREASE. Oh there is also no cash back like other Insurances. My complaint is "False advertising" should not be allowed and I have to drive past their sign on a daily basis with a bitter taste in my mouth!

Hi Chantelle
Here's the thing, like all insurers, we too need to implement policy re rates to keep up the rising costs of parts and repairs... Which even we can't ignore!
These costs aren't linked to the value of your car, which as you know, depreciates monthly. And unlike other insurers, King Price takes this into account and DECREASES your comprehensive car insurance premium every month. The decrease in monthly premium all depends on how much value your vehicle depreciates by on a monthly basis so if its not by much the the decrease will be minimal as well, NB : this is a positive !
Further to the above we are sad you feel our billboards are "false advertising" as the vehicle premium does go down every month based on the depreciation of your vehicle, we only apply an annual increase and we notify 30 days prior to the change in premium so that you have ample time to prepare.
We hope the above provides further clarity, should you still require further info please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
Royal regards

I do not need further clarity. It is quite clear that your salespeople fail to inform your clients of the annual increase in premiums, however, conveniently reiterate that it will decrease monthly. I was very thorough in my questioning of your salesperson, so that I would not have a situation where I am surprised by increases. I was satisfied at the end of the quotation that the supposed "review" was not an increase and was assured accordingly. So do not undermine my intelligence and integrity with your useless platitudes. All I asked was honesty and transparency (which I did not receive). You as Insurers should be the first to understand misrepresentation.
