Approval Delayed and Car Hire now Expiring

I submitted an accident claim on 1 November and received a rental car on the same day. This promptness was greatly appreciated and the car is due to be returned on 1 December. I didn't know at the time that my claim would only be approved two weeks later on 14 November. The panelbeaters only ordered the replacement parts on 15 November and can only begin work once the parts are delivered which the panelbeater says can take up to a week. Thus, my car only begins to be repaired around 21/22 November. The repairs take up to three weeks which means that I only receive my car close to the middle of December. The rental car needs to be returned on 1 December. This means that I will experience two weeks without a car. What am I supposed to do then? This situation could have been avoided if King Price hadn't taken two weeks to approve my claim. I expect you to take responsibility for your delay and extend the car rental unitl my car is repaired.

It is clear that my complaint is not about the panelbeater but rather with the time it took for King Price to approve my claim.

The email response from King Price that actually deals with my complaint is quoted below

"The claims process was also not delayed, accept for your previous insurance history information."

So, King Price expects me to believe that any issue that they may have had regarding my previous insurance history information required two weeks to resolve! I do not accept that and will refer my complaint to the National Consumer Commision. King Price can explain to the Commision how they spent the two weeks it took to approve my claim. Also factor in that during this time I have evidence of the 5 calls that I made to the call centre during that time just to find out why my claim was taking so long to be processed. In addition, I also have the misrepresentation of my complaint that was sent to the panelbeaters. I will be passing this evidence along to the Commission.
