A Crown Tarnished: My Deep Disappointment with King Price
I never thought I’d write this, but here we are — deeply let down by a company I once held in the highest regard.
In early May, I got a new vehicle and, trusting King Price as I always had, I signed up for insurance, reassured by the agent that I was covered from the day of signing. Unfortunately, on the 18th of May, I was involved in a minor accident — a hit and run, no fault of my own. I called King Price on the 19th early morning. They took all my details and promised a follow-up the very next day.
That call never came.
Days passed in silence. I waited, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Still nothing. I finally called back — on the 27th of May, only to be told I wasn’t covered at the time of the accident. Shocked, I explained that the agent had clearly stated otherwise. They promised to listen to the call recordings and get back to me. I even asked for the recordings to be sent to me — a reasonable request.
Yet here I am, 9th of June, and still no call. No update. No recording. No apology. Nothing.
What happened to the King Price I trusted with my first car — the one that made me feel secure, valued, and looked after? The agent I spoke to on the 27th of May was cold, indifferent, and disturbingly devoid of empathy. This isn’t the service of a brand built on loyalty, trust, and royal treatment — this is something else entirely.
A scratch on my car became a scratch on the trust I had in King Price. And that scratch has deepened into something far worse. This experience has left me heartbroken. I believed in this company. I championed it and wanted to cover my wife's car under King price. I expected better — and I deserved better.
Royalty is earned, not claimed. And loyalty, once broken, is hard to repair.
