3rd Party Claim Experience.

I've never been so dissapointed by an insurer as I am at this moment with King Price. I lodged a claim against their insured who had rear-ended a stationary vehicle; which was then flown on to my vehicle as I was passing.

They now say I was partly liable for allowing the vehicle that was rammed into, to hit my vehicle. To top it off, they offered me a settlement that wouldnt even cover the storage fees of where my vehicle currently is being held. The quote they recieved from their own inspector is in excess of 100k, and they expect me to take the offer they gave to me.

Why would they fix their insureds vehicle, as such admitting liability, however refute to fix mine for the equivalent or average of the quotes I was sent all around to get - why did i get the three quotes if they were blatantly going to ignore them. Was this a tactic to get me to tire out?

All I ask is that my vehicle be repaired to a state wherein It was before the accident. This accident has affected me financially in that I have been hiring a vehicle for alternate transport and this has dragged on from November 2018.

We take note of your dissatisfaction on how your claim was processed.   Due to this being a legal claim, there is a list of validations that need to be completed before the matter can be resolved. The offer made will be amended to 100% as per our assessment.  As part of the legal claim it is the party claiming’s responsibility to prove their damages therefore the request for quotes, we refer Third Party claims for reassessment to ensure that claim for damages was mitigated and all damages claimed are in line with merits of the accident.  We have our client’s best interest at heart and need to ensure a fair and reasonable solution is reached on all liability claims as I am sure you would expect of your insurer.  It is noted on the cover letter of our claim form that we do not cover storage fees – “Therefore it’s important to note that it’s unfortunately a lengthy process and the responsibility to follow up lies with you. We urge you to remove your car from any storage facility where storage costs can be incurred, as King Price will not be held liable for any storage costs.”
