Vote of NO Konfidence
We purchased a used Hyundai Grand I10 from the used cars department of KIA Silverlakes, but received very poor service from the salesman Travolter Manku (Trevor) -promise after promise were broken.
Firstly, the vehicle has 13200 k on the odometer. As we are buying the car for my daughter who is starting a new position in PE on the 1st of Feb, I explicitly requested that the vehicle be serviced prior to delivery.
The first story was that the vehicle can ONLY be serviced at 15 000km and I pointed it out that since it is a 2018 model and this is now 2020, they are breaking their own rules as the vehicle must be serviced at least once a year even if it did not do the full 15 000 km.
After a long discussion, they finally agreed that the vehicle will be serviced. It was booked in at Hyundai Silverlakes for service, and I received SMS confirmation that the vehicle is now being serviced.
Just to be informed that the vehicle was actually serviced at 12 600 km in June of 2019 and that there is no need to service the vehicle again. Now who is sleeping and not doing their job ? I was also informed that there is a remainder of a service plan that is still valid until July 2020. Surely this should have been known by the salesman as it is a good selling point ?.
Upon delivery, they asked my to sign a questionnaire confirming that the salesman did go through certain points with me, but none of this was done. So I asked the salesman to open the engine compartment. What a shock - for a nearly brand new vehicle that has undergone a 125 point check, and was booked in for an alleged service that did not happen, at least someone should have spotted the dirty engine ? (Luckily it is only dust and no oil, but still dirty)
We are paying a R3000 "service fee" for the vehicle, and apart from the sales pitch that the vehicle will undergo 125 check points that clearly did not happen, we were also forced to pay another R2 500 for so called "Paint Protector" - again there is NO proof that this was delivered.
I demand a full refund of the R3000.00 service fee or at least for the value of R3000 (like a guarantee for a next service at 45 000 km )
This surely does not give any potential customer any KONFIDENCE.
