Don't bother, they won't

I bought a replacement fob for my immobilizer after losing mine and, after not being able to get the car working, I had the car towed to Kia Randburg.

They then told me after 2 minutes of doing nothing but pressing the immobilizer button a few times that the entire system had to be replaced and it would cost me +- R7000.00 ...

Afterwards as I had the number for the person I got the replacement immobilizer fob from, I messaged the person that I wanted the car checked properly, as I didn't see how it was possible to know the entire system needed to be replaced by just pressing the buttons.

The person then said that someone checked the car the next day, but I had a feeling it was a lie and was proven correct the next day when I had my car towed somewhere else and, when I collected the car, I was then told the keys were still in the safe from being handled by the first person I dealt with (if someone else had checked the car as I asked, why wouldn't the keys have moved to the next person).

I then took the car to Rightway Auto who found the problem in 15 minutes which was unrelated to the immobilizer system. It was a fuel pump & fuel pump relay replacement that cost a fraction of what Kia Randburg had quoted on the immobilizer system, which wouldn't have fixed the problem anyway.

It only took a mechanic 15 minutes to find the problem, when I found one that actually bothered.

If you have any issues, I would recommend going to Rightway Auto instead which is right around the corner and I found them excellent.
