RUDE RUDE RUDE!!

The worst service I have ever received. They are collecting outstanding fees for SABC TV licences and I'm sure they have a very big contract! I diligently called to let the SABC know that I would not be renewing my TV licence when it expired as I was selling my TV and moving away. Since the call, I have received numerous SMS messages with penalty threats from Khumalo Masondo Attorneys. Today I called and, as I was explaining to the man who answered, the call was dropped. I called back and a woman answered. She was rude and insolent. When I explained that I had advised the SABC, she said there was nothing I could do except pay with penalties. And that they would keep adding penalties until I've paid. I explained that I was happy to pay a pro-rata amount but I was not, out of principle, happy to pay an annual renewal fee for licence I no longer need. Again she basically said we have the power over you and there is nothing you can do except pay - in a very nasty, "go to hell" kind of way. What a truly rotten experience. SABC please remove the contract from the awful people who work at this company. Not only are they not going to generate more revenue from outstanding fees for you - they are going to alienate you even further from your audiences.
