Policy collapse

Good day my father has a policy with Kga life for 10 years now. Has been paying every month and I saw on his bank statement that the December premium wasn't paid. They deduct the 27th of each month so the debit order didn't go through because of insufficient funds. So we didn't know that time yet. I only saw on the statement reasontly but after the 27 there were money coming into my father's account till up to now. So I thought they deduct but I checked on my father's cell phone banking to see if the deduct the money nothing the money was still their. So I made contact with them through WhatsApp just to tell me the policy has lapsed. I told them why didn't they contact him so that he known they send me a photo of messages they send to a nr that is not even my father's number. They said now that he can open a new policy but he didn't know. According to their letter the send if you missed a premium they give you 30 days to pay my concern is there was money in the account they could have deduct afterwards. My father is 75 sitting in a wheelchair how can we open a new policy. Please help me with this don't know what to do
