Keymoves Horrible Service

My experience with Mr Cheap (Clarence - customer service) and their subcontractors Keymoves (Mathew and subsequently the owner, Mr Afrika) was one of the worst experiences ever. There's definitely a reason why they're called Mr Cheap and I will NOT use their services again. We contracted them to move the content of a flat from Pretoria to Cape Town during December. Firstly, Keymoves arranged to pick up our goods at 8am on the 24th December. We waited for them from 7am only to be told that they were only coming at 11am. At 11am we were told 12pm and so it went until they eventually arrived past 2pm after numerous calls and Mathew saying he could arrange for a special truck to collect which would cost more. His nonchalant attitude and customer service need work. They arrived 6 hours after the agreed time and by this time the 50% deposit had been made to Mr Cheap so we were already bound. Subsequently we then spoke with Mathew who said he wasn't sure but that they would deliver either on the 30th or the 31st. He agreed to call us back to advise - a call that never came. When asked why he rep**** that he was busy and we were not his only customers. We called him on the 31st December to ask what time they were delivering our goods in Cape Town only to be told that they had not been paid. This was around 10am and we then sent proof of payment (made to Keymoves this time) for the remainder of the agreed upon amount plus an additional amount for extra items they brought. Mathew then advised that they hadn't been paid by Mr Cheap and that they had put our goods in storage. The amount in dispute between Mr Cheap and Keymoves was for additional boxes (roughly R650) which we agreed we would pay if they delivered our goods (we had paid R325 already as part of the deposit) . We asked why they didn't inform us, but didn't receive a response despite Mathew agreeing to advise us on a delivery time. Getting hold of Mr Cheap during this time was virtually impossible and we actually drove to their warehouse in Dunoon which was closed. They were not helpful at all. We then spoke to Mr Afrika who referred us to Mathew again who said that he would deliver two days later. We then threatened legal action and were advised by Mathew that they don't have a contract with us as our contract was with Mr Cheap. Our lawyer then called them and sent correspondence and we advised that we will be obliged to incur additional costs for accommodation and clothes plus attorneys fees if they don't deliver as agreed. Mathew gave us 3 options: 1) he could deliver 2 days later, 2) he could arrange another truck at an additional cost, and 3) that we could arrange our own truck to pick up our goods. We were not in favor of any options proposed as they would cost us additional money for services already paid for and indicated that we would pursue legal action. Shortly thereafter they agreed to deliver and eventually delivered our goods at 7pm on new years eve. We will definitely NOT use Keymoves ever again!!!
