lack of care and poor work ethics of Ford!!
This is an email Ive sent to Ford Customer services as a call was just insufficient, i got a automated reply and then a call from them with of which i requested they call back as i was rather busy at that point with work, ive had no return calls or emails whatsoever. i am tired of this lack of care and attitude from Ford!!! this is ongoing trauma!!
see below
Good day
I am having endless hassles with regards to a ford ranger I bought new off the floor from umgeni in durban In June 2015. Vehicle now has 105k on clock. My vehicle had been booked in over two weeks ago, And only get told Thursday 12th when I decided to go into dealership that they've had someone inspect fault and service was completed. On Thursday 12th had spoken to a customer care representative via phone named Linda on whom I'd given all details including my mobile number for her to contact me back after giving her full details of scenario as well as my vin number and Ive had no call back as yet from her which is shocking. Why should I suffer?
Besides all problems ive had with this vehicle since new, the main reason for this email that It has constant drive chain problems. Changing of gearboxes etc and differentials. vehicle was purchased with full maintenance cover up to 90k and warranty to 120k. Vehicle has religiously been serviced as needed by ford.
Problem is that I have Complained from drive chain noise and clatter from 20k and since gearbox after gearbox has been replaced with having broken town Various times arranging Roll backs etc utd at my cost. I am a mechanical engineer myself. And have had more than fair share of vehicles and experiences and understanding.
At one point I decided to rather support another dealership only to be told to rather take it to where I had purchased vehicle from When they could not resolve this saga.
Gearbox was recently replaced at 102k and drove like a dream for a tank or two and slight humming noise again started at 104k I continued to drive until service was due at 105k Hoping the noise would get louder as before this is how it started at 20k and as usual. The service manager wants to test drive to hear this noise And something a blatant noise to me. He cannot hear.
Now the dealership states that they had a Mayfair engineer drive my vehicle and claim it's now the clucth making this noise where as previously stated by Service manager that the clutch was not at fault when I requested they change that as well back then 2 gearboxes ago. I constantly have to check up on them and drive them for an answer. Ive now been told that i must pay for a clutch as its a wear and tear item. I was covered for full maintenace on vehicle. Vehicle drive drive chain noise is mainly heard in 3rd gear. Why would a clutch affect one gear??? This is the very same noise each time it starts off and gets worse. To the point where vehicle seizes into 3rd gear and at one point was undrivable causes clutch to burn out while driving To a point of satety. Where the service manager had said then that clutch was still good?
I'm paying for a vehicle I don't have. And the amount of time it sat at dealership. I'm not near impressed. I've hardly had any great use of this so called well designed best seller bakkie by Ford.
I have asked Dp previously to give a buy back option of which the figure he gave was ridiculously low an Ford knew very well of my settlement figure.
I don't see why I should be the party to suffer where as every time my vehicle is in. Everyone drags their heels and I'm never contacted unless I call in and hassle and I end up with scratches an dents from every time it's is.
Ford should carry their warranty and serves with pride. They don't and having said that. I yet still only support Ford?
Please can we settle this, before this situation gets worse and out of hand.
