BAD SERVICE & TERRIBLE ATTITUDES
I recently booked my car in for a diagnostic check due to my car losing power. When I took my car in at the end of July I had heard nothing from them with regards to the process. When I called around 2pm to find out what is happening they said they hadn't gotten to my car due to being too full. If I book my car in for that day then I expect my car to be seen to that day. Annoyed I requested to get my car back and have my car booked for a date that they will be able to see to the car. The service advisor booked my car for the 2nd of August (Friday) knowing full well that my car would be in for more than one day. After the diagnostic check they found that my car needed a clutch replacement. Working in that industry they should be able to advise on a figure for the repair, which they did not. He advised he would need to keep my car for the weekend / until my extended warranty insurer approves the claim, which I then advised I need my car for the weekend and would be able to bring it back on monday. He agreed and said he would order the parts once my insurer has approves. I then asked if they would be able to give a courtesy car, which he was not able to help me at all. I guess I have not paid them enough money for them to be able to help me (only high paying customers get this advantage). I brought my car in on the 5th of August for the issue to be resolved. I informed them not to worry about a car hire as I was going to CT but would be back on the Thursday and I expect the issue to be resolved by then, which he agreed. He informed me that to process the claim they would need to strip my car, I agreed (not knowing what this meant but he said he needs to do this to take photos of my clutch for the claim) Obviously being oblivious to the matter I assumed this is what needed to be done to get it sorted. Monday afternoon I still hadn't heard anything from FORD or from my insurer. I tried calling Ford but no one was available. Tuesday afternoon I still had heard nothing and therefore called again, I couldn't get through to the service advisor after 3 tries, eventually I asked for the manager, again no answer. A few times I got through but then the phone was put down as it was picked up. Other times it went back to reception which I left my name and number to get back to me, yet no-one got back to me. Eventually on Wednesday I got through to the service advisor, who informed me he was waiting on my insurer to approve. I asked him why has nothing been done as yet, he laughed and said I was in CT and do not need my car. What a complete joke! He informed me he sent all the items to the insurer and waiting on them, then he can proceed. I then called the insurer who said he hadn't received anything as yet. It was getting late, therefore I left it for the next morning. The service advisor called to say the quoted amount was not fully covered by the policy and I would need to pay and ******ion amount, which I did not accept and requested to have my car ready for pick up. He got annoyed with me and told me that I could not have it done by the end of the day (Friday was a public holiday) which I told him it is not my problem they left it for so long and he told me that he would have it ready by Thursday. He continued to argue back and forth with me about it which I continued to demand my car back, he put the phone down on me. I called back to tell him that it is extremely rude to put the phone down on me, which he did not apologise for nor did he recognise he had done anything wrong here. I asked to speak to the service manager who was not there at the time. I spoke to the foreman whom agreed to have my car ready by the afternoon as it is not such a huge job to do. I then got a call from the service advisor informing me that to put everything back it will cost me R1700! Ontop of that, if I do take my car back, I may break down within a few days! This information was not disclosed with me before they proceeded to strip my car, nor was the quoted amount given to me, or else I would have not agreed. I complained to the service manager, whom gave me a small "discount" which is still a huge amount for me to pay, just for a clutch kit. I have phoned other service industries for a quoted amount to fix my clutch yet they are too concerned to take my vehicle as it has been stripped already, and may encounter further issues. My car is still sitting at Ford and no other solution has been given to me, besides paying for the repair, which I am not prepared to pay at all!
