Theft disguised as a glitch

Signed a contract for my lease with this company that started on the 1st of Jan 2020 and we still haven't moved in because of the stories we've been fed since. First we had not sent back all the relevant documents and then the contractors had "left" with the keys to the unit when they were revamping the place and then the landlord had to sign some documents then we'd be good to go. *how, i don't know since the contractors had "left" with the keys*. Today is the 6th and there's no sense of urgency whatsoever in making sure we finally move in and yet we are being charged rent from the 1st for that place. So we're dealing with an agent who seems to be a middle man cz everything we communicate with him he passes onto the other agent. Today is the said day where the main agent had said we would get the keys(they told us the same story the whole of last week till they told us the contractor's story) but no one has bothered to inform us of the developments. Where do you guys think we're staying at this moment, where do you guys think we get the money to pay for another place when we have a place we have paid for already? There's a reason why we wanted our lease to start on the 1st of jan. This is the worst client service and to think it's only the beginning of the relationship with this company. The said agents are Khayle and Xantilomzi of Just Property in pretoria.
