Refund

On the 28th of February 2019 we moved out from our three bedroom apartment we were renting out through Just property

An inspection was done but the agent didn't take us through the pre-inspection that was done comparing it to the one she had done. She said I should sign the exit inspection and said she would email it to me but she never did not allowing us the opportunity to challenge in the exist inspection.

My brother and cousin moved into one of their flats as one of the tenant was moving out and was looking for people to occupy the flat for one month.

After 7 days of not receiving our deposit refund I contacted (emailed) them to find out the delay but I only got feedback after two weeks saying that they are holding onto the deposit since my brother moved into the other flat and I don't understand how this was my problem because the tenant allowed them to move in under her lease.

The exist inspect was only sent to me three weeks later. And they said they would hold onto our deposit until they moved our from the other flat which didn't make any sense

They withheld about R5000 from our deposit saying they used it to paint the flat. We were not afforded the opportunity to get our own people to paint or were we presented with quotes from the painters they were going to use. The pre inspection had pictures and the exit inspection.

I took the matter to the housing tribunal and nothing was done as Just Property still didn't make the payment and provide evidence that they sent us quotes for the painting invoice

I went back to the housing Tribunal notifying them that Just Property didn't pay the full refund and two weeks later I still haven't received any feedback from the housing Tribunal
