Poor & Unhealthy Living Conditions

Im currently renting a property leased by Just Property Pietermaritzburg & owned by Handswood Property Trust. When I initially viewed the property in December 2021, I became aware that the property had a moulded & leaking ceiling in the middle of the lounge. The agent, Roxanne Delport, promised that they would get it fixed. I advised that I would appreciate it if it could be done soon, as I would have a three year old in the apartment, and due to the promise, so I took up the lease. It is three months down the line and Just Property Pietermaritzburg has still not fixed the ceiling. On this very day alone, the dripping ceiling fills a 20 liter bucket. If it rains & I’m not in the apartment, I came back to a soaked carpet & my lounge furniture sitting in a puddle of rain water. Every time I raise the situation, Tonya Swiegers, advises that the body corporate is working on it. I can not speak for others but after having spoken to other tenants who have lived in this estate longer than myself, they have informed me most of them having been living in these conditions for a long time now, with Just Property Pietermaritzburg not coming to their aid.
