Just Property (Midrand) - DEPOSIT ********!!!

I moved into an apartment with them on 02 November 2021. Two weeks into my stay the agency organised a contractor to come fit a prepaid meter into the apartment, cool. I was home when the contractor came and I noticed that he had chipped the paint right by the main switch box during the installation when he was showing it to me and giving me the card.

Fast-forward a year later, I serve notice, fill in all their forms and submit everything by 07 Nov 2022. I move out and conduct an exit inspection with one of the agents on 01 December 2022 during which I mention (biggest mistake because she hadn't even noticed it so I really shouldn't have said anything) the chip by the box and how it came about.

To cut it short, after going back and forth with them, on 20 January 2023 they concluded the matter by taking R2300 off my deposit because I did not report the chip that was caused by a contractor they had organised in a process that had absolutely nothing to do with me.
