*******ly taking your deposit money for repairs that is not for your account

I rented a unit from Just Letting/Just Property for a year. When I moved in, the inspection was done on paper. I waited for 3 months until I complained that nobody was there to fix what needed to be fixed. When I moved out, photo's was taken and I was told that this was now the new thing. I was never informed what was wrong as I was told this will be compared with the report when I moved in. After a month I phoned Just Property to enquire about my deposit. I was then advised that I cracked the granite top by the stove. I was furious because I never saw a crack and with the exit inspection I just signed and never checked what was said on the report. I was also billed for mould treatment which you can't even see on the photo's in the bathroom because the paint was pealing when I moved in and it was never repaired or treated, now I have to pay for it. About the crack in the granite, I went to investigate and the very first unit I walked into had a similar crack and the owner advised that it was indeed where the top was joint seeing that it was such thin piece and the granite is poor quality. My problem I never saw this crack when I moved in and signed that there was no chips or cracks. What I do find suspicious is that when the new tenant moved in, this was to be mentioned that it was going to be repaired but the new tenant took a photo of the crack to advise them that there was a crack. Why would the new tenant do this if the crack was there before and she was suppose to be notified. According to what I think is that the crack was there because it was where it was joined but fixed with hyproxy for granite and that maybe the tenant leaned on it and then it cracked because if you look at the photo's you can see there is a crack but not so clearly like the photo that was sent from the new tenant. What I also find strange is that I never saw this crack in the time that I stayed there but the inspector saw this straight away and took a photo. He also did tell me that he has inspected the unit before and he must say this is the best this unit has been. What I think happened was that because I never saw the crack and also signed that they saw the oppertunity to use my deposit to fix it after the new tenant sent the photo. I spoke to my laywer and he advised that I must take them to the small claims court and claim my money back. I also heard on the radio that agents aren't just allowed to take your money to repair like they want to. So people, don't let these agents just take your money. Until this day, I never even got my reading for the electricity for the last three months after I did request this. I took the reading on the day of the inspection and still told the inspector to do the same and I didn't see that he even did, so this is another issue that I am not happy about as for November only my son stayed in the unit and he is almost never home and Decemeber half the month nobody was there.
